Our Little Man

Jack Michael is now 18 months old. He is obsessed with cars. He loves to play in the front yard and watch the cars as he would say "vroom vroom" by the house. We are working on our manners and he is now signing Please and Thank You. Jack Michael's words are car, bye bye, mommy (refuses to say daddy), dog, ka ka (chicken), eesh (cheese), oosh (shoes), cracker, eye, ear, ook (book).... He knows the sounds of lion, frog, tiger, puppy dog, kitty cat, duck, and cow. He loves to read books, play with his cars and trucks, and go bye bye. He is a pacifier snob as we like to call it. He will ONLY take yellow pacifiers. He is growing up so very fast, but we honestly are enjoying every single minute of it. He is absolutely precious.

Date Night = Joy

Josh + Jenny + Movie - Jack = Date Night, which also means a whole lot of fun. Josh and I were able to get a couple hours to ourselves last night and it was just fabulous. I honestly went to bed smiling. It was nice to reconnect with some uninterrupted time.

Girl Time

It is amazing to me how spending time with girls just eases the soul. Today I am so joyful when it comes to girl time. It is so rejuvenating. Sometimes a girl just needs some good 'ol time with some ladies.

Laughing for no Reason

Today my joy came from the unexpected, for no reason, laughing of Jack Michael. While I juggled dinner, talking on the phone, and feeding Jack, out of nowhere Jack Michael starts laughing hysterically. So much so that I had no choice but to stop what I was doing and just stare in wonder. He just laughed and laughed with his little nose curled up. Now that was one beautiful sight and sound.

Yummy Cake!

Today I have found joy in Pineapple Upside Down cake. Randomly wanted some so I brought out my trusty Pioneer Woman cookbook and made the most delicious cake. It is the perfect combination of all that makes a cake so yummy. And tomorrow I can add to my joy by sharing it with my co-workers.

Life's Many Blessings

So I have found myself spending more time lately complaining then actually sitting back and realizing all the many joys in my life so I have decided to journal each day about what is bringing me joy. Today I decided that I am joyful about there being fewer ants in my home. We have had a serious problem with ants the last few months. It has been so bad that I have found myself killing ants everywhere I go in spite of whether the specific ant invaded my house or not. I feel they should all punish. However, today as I went into my kitchen I managed to only have to kill a handful. Yea, it brought me such joy. Thank you wonderful ant killer that appears to be helping.
